Making sound the old fashioned way (by not knowing any music theory)

Shane Monds is a multi-instrumentalist and composer collaborating with filmmakers, artists, performers from diverse traditions. His work has been featured at venues including St. Peter’s Basilica, the Acropolis, the documentary film channel, multiple film festivals, and through audio installations at James Turrell's Twilight Epiphany, The Museum of Fine Arts Houston, and the Menil Collection. A specialist in non-Western music, Monds earned his doctorate in composition from Rice University and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Hindustani music, focusing on the Etawah gharana's sitar and surbahar traditions under musicologist Deepak Raja and Pandit Arvind Parikh. He studies sitar with Abhik Mukherjee and trained in North Indian voice and tabla with Chandrakantha and David Courtney. He is Composer-in-Residence at The Sufi Records, a groundbreaking label for original Sufi crossover music. Dr. Monds plays bass, guitar, piano, sitar, surbahar, and other fretted instruments.

Former vocalist and guitarist of Holygood (previously Light You Up), Tohm Napier has toured with the likes of Don Broco, PVRIS, Busted, Four Year Strong and State Champs. Known for his powerful, often-gritty vocals, and expressive lyrical content rooted in self-reflection and melancholy, Tohm describes his songwriting style as a rock-leaning amalgamation of genres. Features over the years include BBC's Radio One Rock Show, Kerrang Magazine, and Rock Sound; Tohm can be recognized for pop-punk jams "Oh No", "Better Off Before" and "All We've Ever Known". After 15 years of touring and writing with bands, Tohm has turned his focus toward finding his sound as a solo artist.

About me… Well I’ve been writing, performing and learning about music for 20 years now. I am an excellent guitar player and composer, I am a very good song writer, and have been studying mixing and music production for the last 3 years. I can write, record and produce a song for you or that you’ve written for a very good price since I am new to the business side of landr. I am also very interested in any sort of sound design or possible foley artist jobs and think I can most likely find the sounds that you are looking for.
