The Canvas Group is a producer duo, Nic Gracia and Rob Marshall, based in San Francisco Bay Area and Los Angeles. The two have been making music together for over a decade and since opening their studio in 2015, have over 200 releases with more than 40 artists without the help of outside management, a publishing house, or label support. Their work has helped several unsigned artists land sync on Hulu & ABC, reach millions of streams across various platforms, gain placement official Spotify playlists, receive regional and international radio play (KITS ALT 105.3FM, BBC Radio 1), and perform at regional music festivals (BottleRock, ALT 105.3 BFD, Van’s Warped Tour). In 2020, they were nominated for an Emmy for “Outstanding Original Song” with their Nation Television debut of the song “North Star” by William Lipton on the hit ABC daytime drama General Hospital which was co-written, produced, engineered, mixed and mastered by the duo.

I'm a full-time musician working on all different types of music at almost every stage. From developing artists and their ideas to recording almost every type of instrument and mixing them to full-fledged songs. My main instrument is the piano and all other keyboards and synths. As a classical trained vocalist I enjoy recording and coaching vocal recordings. As I'm working at 106hz Studio space along with other producers/musician/creatives I have a large number of colleagues at hand that I can entrust with a lot of different aspects in the creation of music - I think it's crucial that the people working on a project match in terms of integrity and style.

Much of this unhelpful workflow comes from ego. When working with clients, I never start the conversation about my own taste of music. Instead, I begin with listening to the artist with the intent of every artist leaving with a new found confidence in their sound. Q: What's your strongest skill? A: Drum Programming. I got my first drum kit when I was 2yrs old. Rythmic music has become where I find myself most naturally at home at. Q: What type of music do you usually work on? A: Being crazy on the production is fun, but the focus should always be on a well written song. Otherwise the song that is created is a polished turd. Q: How would you describe your style?
