After obtaining my diploma in cello, music theory and band practice with 1st class honours from the French Conservatoire about fifteen years ago, I started collaborating with local musicians in studios around Brittany and France, all the while working on my own projects. I’m an award winning engineer specialise in mastering. I have 10+ years of experience in the music industry. My clients include Warner Music & Netflix. I’ve worked with music producers such as Mark Dodson (Judas Priest, Ozzy Osbourne), Chuks Chiejine (BROCKHAMPTON) and Deni Lew (PJ & Duncan) as well as artists like Bree Runway (EMI), Daria, Seycara, PW Music and Viktoria Modesta. I love passionate musicians and helping them finalize their sound. Writing a song is the first step, making the production is the second and finishing it with an excellent mix and master is also crucial; without a decent sound nobody is going to listen to your music. I am excited to introduce myself as an experienced music professional and creative entrepreneur, specializing in music/video production, artist management and development. My name is Jason Alan, and I currently reside in Nashville, TN. My passion for music started at a young age, and I began playing the guitar, bass, piano, and synth when I was only seven years old. I continued my musical journey through high school, where I was part of the band and choir and formed my first band when I was only twelve. After completing a bachelor's degree in Music Business and Recording Arts from Full Sail University in Florida, I moved back to my hometown of Detroit and formed the band, "The Howling Loud” who gained regional success and opened for Misfits on a number of occasions. After experiencing success with my band and the unfortunate end of the project, I moved to Nashville, TN, where I helped build and now manage Sundog Recording Studio owned by grammy nominated producer and engineer, Michael Esser. During my time there, I have established myself as a successful producer and recording engineer, working with a variety of artists to develop their sound and improve their craft. Driven by my passion for music and my desire to help artists reach their full potential, I founded Beefy's All Originals, a company offering music production, management, artist development, booking, and other multimedia services, including design, video and photography, branding, web design and booking. During this time I also was retained as head of A&R and consulted for a growing EDM label out of Amsterdam called Epsilon Records. As a guitarist and bassist, I have had the privilege of touring with many bands and artists including Norah Jones, Daniel Johnston, Bedouine, Ben Kweller, Jonathan Wilson, The Redwalls and Alberta Cross as well as playing with members of The Grateful Dead and Phish. I've been playing music since I was four and there is nothing that I love more. Making music with people who are creative and strive to push themselves is something I will always crave. My favorite kind of music is made when talented musicians are using their intuition. This tends to happen in the first handful of takes. I like the spontaneity and the commitment to that moment. It's why I love working with tape (obviously this can happen in the digital world as well). In saying that, I'm always up for spending as much time necessary to get the right take. I am very experienced in digital comping and splicing tape. I've had the honor of working with a lot of different artists and am well-versed in many genres. I like learning new things and am always open to surprises that happen during recording. I enjoy helping artists with songwriting. If you're stuck on something, I'd love to add a fresh perspective for the song to take an interesting turn. I pride myself on bringing a friendly, open-minded and organized approach to my work. My main goal is to make it fun and to have the artist be psyched about their recording!
