After obtaining a Bachelor's degree from McGill University, Ken pursued a full time music career. Starting with guitar performance for off-Broadway musicals in New York (NY) and in Montreal (QC), his career quickly gained traction. He continued performing on guitar, voice, percussion, keyboards and bass for many events such as: opening act for Mumford and Sons, Jazz Fest, 4 sold out Metropolis with the Franklin Electric, and Osheaga main stage. As a musician, in the last three years alone, he toured in over 18 countries with The Franklin Electric (Juno nominated), Patrick Lehman (Juno nominated), and others with roles in guitar, keys, vocals and bass. In addition to tours, he has performed across multiple nationally televised and broadcasted venues including: The Bachelorette Canada, ABC (national Australian radio), Canada AM, Radio Eins (Germany's premier radio), Qmusic (Danish T.V.), and Inas Nacht (German television with over 3 million viewers). Beyond performance, Ken has arranged (bass and guitar) on many records including Patrick Lehman's 'Buthcy's Son' (Juno nominated) and The Franklin Electric's 'Blue Ceilings'; 'In Your Head', and 'In Your Heart’. This initial experience has motivated a deeper commitment toward writing and arrangement for artists across North America across a range a styles that go beyond Ken’s original experience in country music. In particular, these genres now include folk, indie, pop and rock artists. Ken directly attributes this versatility in style to the successful production since 2018 alone of E.P.’s and singles for Velvet Black, Allison Fortier, Emilie Skahan, Lia, Delta Creek and many other Canadian and American artists.

With 30+ years in the business, working for and collaborating with a multitude of commercially successful artists, producers, DJs, film composers and advertising agencies, I am always looking for fresh projects that challenge my audiophile mind.
In my own studio, I usually write & produce in Ableton Live, and record, mix and master in ProTools. Happy in either environment, I sometimes use both concurrently via Rewire.
I did a *lot* of remixing in the 90s and 00s, and still enjoy doing so. Leftfield and experimental sound design have always been favourites of mine, as well as composing to picture. Composition for TV advertising in New York, and collaboration on a number of feature films with the named composers brought plenty of sound to picture experience, and I taught Audio Post Production at Full Sail, Orlando.
I started mastering for a number of random projects a while back, and the constantly happy clients have push me to also offer this service. Try it out for yourself!

London, United Kingdom
I spent the first 10 years of my career working at a studio privately run by dance/rock pioneers Apollo 440 in London. Now working freelance, I draw on all the knowledge and experience I gained working with countless singers/bands/artists/producers (both established and new) on all sorts of different projects.
Mixing is not simply a technical procedure, it's a creative process. You can get a song sounding good a million different ways using all kinds of techniques but does it make the listener feel the way it's supposed to?
I am a perfectionist. Even when I know "perfect" isn't something that's actually possible most of the time, that doesn't stop me striving to achieve that for myself and more importantly the artist I'm mixing music for. If that means working on a track for a while, deciding it's not working and starting again with a new approach..then I'm not afraid to do that.

New York is home to some of the industry’s most legendary names like; Lil Kim, Big Daddy Kane, the late great Ol Dirty Bastard, and Jay-Z. Presently, it looks like we will be adding a new name to that list with the arrival of Marc Papers! When a writer came across Marc Papers on Spotify, they were instantly surprised by the “LACK” of autotune. Papers’ rap style focuses on actual lyrics that are missing from the current microwave instant noodle cup style of rap. You are not getting random words thrown together over a beat-this kid talks his sh*t!
Marc Papers is taking the game one step further. He is a self-made boss who wears many hats. As the CEO of Top 5 Entertainment, senior engineer, and one of the flagship artists of the label, the big stepper continues the trend of showing why New York remains the Mecca of Hip-Hop. The way he blends old-school lyricism with this new NY drill sound is a match made in Heaven. His discography consists of bangers like “Stocks Up, the smash hit Laughing at my Haters has amassed over 1.7 billion total streams since its release, plus a large production catalog on Beatstars.
Marc Papers ghostwrites some of your favorite independent hits (we can’t reveal them legally of course), gives out astrology readings, writes jingles for hip brands like the “Hire App” in Miami, and “Llemorstyles” based in Brooklyn.
Most importantly, be sure to connect with Marc Papers on all social media platforms and his official website. Always remember – GET YA PAPERS UP!

I've been playing flute since 1997. I have several degrees in music performance, and I have recorded on countless projects. I've performed in the Just For Laughs Comedy Festival, Ottawa and Montreal's Jazz festivals, and the Marciac Jazz festival. I have a lot of experience in knowing in the moment what a song might need, and being able to come up with new ideas that suit the vibe of the song. I came up learning heavy metal and classic rock guitar solos on the flute, and kept working with that and eventually switched to jazz, with a focus in improvisation. I also learned the sax shortly after, and I am able to play tenor, alto, soprano and Baritone, even at the same time!!
I've studied with some of the best saxophonists in the world, including David Binney, George Garzone, Donny McCaslin and Dave Liebman.
I also play clarinet, keyboards and percussion.
I came up in a rich musical background so I am able to perform and interpret in many different styles, from pop to rock, to reggae, to jazz, to hip hop to even techno. I love playing different styles and fusing them together.
I'm looking forward to being able to work together and recording on your tracks!!!

Matt Gerhard is a Producer/Engineer/Multi-Instrumentalist based in Austin, TX.

Over the past decade I have had the pleasure to work with artists like Spoon, !!!, Tennis, Future Islands, and Knife in The Water. As well as many leading producers including Jim Eno, Joe Chiccarelli, Charlie Sexton, Steve Berlin, Jack Lawrence, and Rick Hart.
Q&A
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Most mixing projects lately are a combo of the two. I mix in the box and print outboard gear and effects. Then the mix is printed through my API 8200 summing mixer. I would love to do more all analog tape sessions, because it's a fun and different workflow but realistically the budgets and time constraints are limited.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Getting to work with all kinds of people and personalities in many different styles of music. I think that really keeps me fresh.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That mixing and mastering is magic and everything can be fixed. Don't get me wrong a lot can be fixed, but there is no substitute for great source material. The job of mixing and mastering is to enhance the song.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What direction do you want the mix to go? On a 1-10 scale, 1 being pretty close to the rough mix but a little more polished/hi-fi or 10 pretty unrecognizable from the rough mix?
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Listen! Be fearless and experiment. Turn that delay all the way up maybe it'll work, maybe it won't? You don't know unless you try. Also don't be afraid to kill your darlings.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: All kinds, thats my favorite part of the job
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Fresh ears and a new perspective
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: For mixing, I try to learn as much about the song as I can. I have a detailed conversation with the artist and try and get an idea of the vision for the song before I start. A rough mix is always helpful I listen to that a couple of times and right down my ideas and notes. Once I feel like I'm at a got place with the mix I'll send it to the artist for notes and then revise based on any notes they have until they're happy with the mix.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Oh boy, lots of people. I really love people like Tchad Blake and Dave Fridmann who are making wild sounds you've never heard before. As well as folks who came up more in the "documentarian" engineering world. People like Sam Phillips, Tom Dowd, Steve Albini who are trying to capture the performance in the room.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Mixing, Mastering, Editing.

Los Angeles native, Gil Sharone, is highly regarded as one of the most versatile session and touring drummers in the world, who is known for his creativity, authenticity and strong pocket. He is a multiple-time industry award winner as a drummer, but will often wear other hats as a co-writer, producer, and an educator/clinician.
Gil came to notoriety in the rock world as a former member of The Dillinger Escape Plan, Puscifer, Marilyn Manson, Stolen Babies and Team Sleep. However, he is widely known as an expert in other genres. Reggae, ska and rocksteady were part of his earliest influences along with jazz, funk, hip hop and fusion.

Gil is also an active member of a genre bending music collective, Saudade, where you can hear his jazz fusion collaborations with jazz greats John Medeski, David Torn, Robert Thomas Jr., Dr. Know and Chuck Doom.
Gil’s work further extends into the film/television world, working with composers Tyler Bates and Paul Haslinger. His work can be heard in Deadpool 2, Guardians of The Galaxy 2, all three John Wick movies, The Punisher (Netflix), Kingdom and Stumptown. I'm Jackson Mathod, a multi-instrumentalist singer songwriter based in the south of London. My influences range from the likes of Fat Freddie’s drop, Submotion Orchestra, and Christian Scott to name a few.
I studied Jazz at Guildhall School of Music and Drama back in 2009. However, never feeling fully embedded in the Jazz world, I quickly went onto the session musician circuit, playing for high profile artists such as Stormzy and Jordan Rakei.
Fast forward to 2019, where I was asked to be a featured artist on 'Make you Feel' by South London Duo Fika, laying my vibrant trumpet sound on the alt-soul hit. This is a thing I really enjoy in music- Improvising in different styles. Embracing the diversity of my instrument.
“Jackson Mathod plays with a genuine love for Jazz music. His ability to convey truth in his solos is a tonic and his potential as an artist excites me. Jackson’s playing adheres to the values of blues, swing and community, he represents himself with honesty and dignity and reflects with abundance the characteristics that this music’s future will thrive on.” – Julian Joseph
Jackson’s music has been featured on Spotify Editorial playlists such as ‘State of Jazz’ and ‘Jazz UK’
He has also received radio play from BBC 6music, Jazz fm, WWFM to name but a few
