I'm a Gen X Dj, song writer and producer getting back into music, hopefully my ear is still as good as it ever was. I hope you like my music, I've always been a sucker for those songs that tell a story, that is something you can look forward to, songs that pull on heart strings, bring back memories or just make you smile when you hear it. That and a fair amount of Metal.

What up? Let's make this a less generic autobiography if that's cool. I started with electronic music circa 2000 with some janky version of Fruity Loops I probably downloaded on Morpheus or Limewire (I was only 13 or 14, sue me). I got as far as being able to combine the stock sounds that came with the DAW into a 4 or 8 bar beat. Don't think I ever even figured out how to open (let alone use) the piano roll back then. So what I ended up with was a bunch of songs consisting of 8-bar loops, with the only tonal variation being the timbre of the sample or instrument itself. Masterpieces. Fast-forward to 2021-2022, I decided to give it another go having a couple friends with a mutual interest in electronic music production. Used FL Studio for a bit but switched to Live 11 shortly after. I'm a huge fan of xfer records as a business, and Serum has been my goto synth throughout. Victor Manuel Torres Ayala, known in the music world as Retro Daiko, is an underrated Puerto Rican reggaetón songwriter hailing from Loiza, Puerto Rico. Born to a working-class Boricua family, Daiko grew up surrounded by the sounds of classic salsa, hip-hop, and early reggaetón, with influences ranging from Héctor Lavoe to Tego Calderón. He began writing rhymes in middle school, finding solace in lyrics as a way to navigate his bilingual upbringing and inner-city life. Daiko cut his teeth in the local underground scene, ghostwriting hooks and verses for aspiring artists before catching the attention of an upcoming rising star Kartier from Goldstar . Though he remained behind the scenes, his writing appeared in early 2006 reggaetón track that gained traction on Local Latin mixtape circuits.
