Ditchweed Diesel was founded in 2003 by Jack Hojnar, who turned a late-in-life passion for guitar into a full-fledged alt-country, Americana, and roots rock project. The band has evolved over the years, with its longest-running lineup featuring David Thompson (bass) and Jeff Teppema (guitar, fiddle). Now based in Milwaukee, Jack collaborates with studio musicians and longtime engineer Mike Hagler at King Size Studios in Chicago. Known for its rich blend of mandolins, fiddles, keys, and driving rhythms, Ditchweed Diesel has played iconic Chicago venues like Martyrs’, Abbey Pub, and Cubby Bear, plus festivals like Taste of Chicago. With six albums released, their seventh, Chase the Wind, arrives in April 2025. Recorded at King Size Studios, it showcases Jack’s evolving sound and heartfelt storytelling. My name is Henry Howard & The Six Strings. I’m a local musician in Duluth, Minnesota. Although, I am originally from Pensacola, Florida and moved here a little over a year ago for the Coast Guard. I’ve been listening to music all my life. I remember listening to Johnny Cash mostly as I grew up and I always thought it was amazing seeing the songs he’d come up with and seeing how much of a legacy he carried from that. That’s what started me playing guitar and when I was 17, I wrote my first song called, “Buffalo Rock”. But, after that a couple years passed and I slowly didn’t play guitar as much until last year when I found the lyrics to “Buffalo Rock” and I decided to finish it and from there I loved the idea of just making music. After that, I wrote 9 other songs that year to make an album that i’ll be releasing this year called, The Snowy Side of The Street.
