I fell in love with classic country as a kid, thanks to my Dad and a dive bar called Perry's Pub in Houston, TX , back in the early 80's. Drawn more to the raw realness of acoustic sounds, songs that told stories or evoked emotion, I found influences in artists like Jim Croce, John Prine, Kris Kristofferson, Gordon Lightfoot, Avett Brothers, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, Guy Clark, Steve Goodman, and of course, Jimmy Buffett, who proved you don't have to fit in the mainstream to have meaning. I don't claim to be a great singer or musician, but the journey is the destination, the joy is in the process of creating, and I'm loving every minute.
