MUSICMERMAID.COM was created in 2017 after Sharon wrote and produced dance music for her book “A Musical Mermaid Tale”. Her goal is to make families dance and sing together. It is a picture book is for all ages young at heart to sing and dance together. It is a journey about princess Sharon and her merdog Nemo Lucky Sharky who is Sharon’s rescue pup and best friend in real life. If you love mermaids, dogs and music, this is the book for you. The main theme of the book is “love conquers all and family matters most!”. Music Mermaid believes you should always follow your dreams and believe in yourself. Spreading love is where it’s at.“Music Mermaid” is a stage name. Sharon was born in Roslindale, MA and is Lebanese American. She lived in Kuwait where she attended the American School of Kuwait. It was there that she fell in love with performing arts. Sharon has acted, danced, modeled and sang throughout her life and attended college at UMass Amherst where she received her bachelor’s degree in Communications/ film. After college, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue her dream of becoming an actress, but then decided to move back to Boston after missing her family and falling in love with a genre of music called “House Music'' now referred to as EDM. Sharon loved “House music” so much she decided she wanted to sing EDM and dedicate her life to Music and children. After attending UMass Boston to become an elementary music educator she then received her Master’s degree in Music Education at Gordon College and is now a veteran elementary music educator working in the Massachusetts public schools system.

I love music. I listen to many genres and enjoy talking about music and its intricacies. I've been in many bands and have done my share of collaboration. I enjoy constructive criticism and the process of working on music in a collaborative manner. Listening to a piece of music, tweaking it until you find the right sound and rhythm. Finally, having the soundscape to introduce and guide the poetry or vocal expression that will form the final masterpiece and breathe life into the composition. I decided not to get into music as my sole profession because I was afraid it would destroy my love for it. I'm in love with music, but I don't love the idea of making music to be sold and mold myself to fit into the container of the industries choosing. Some will agree, others might prefer the dark side and kudos for that. I decided not to take that pill. So in a nutshell, that's me. I compose, engineer and market my own material. Very far from a noob, but this is a hobby I am extremely passionate about. Nice to meet you.
