an indie musician that overthinks a part of Cherry Flavored Cement

Hi, I'm a British Songwriter from London, now residing in Paris. I've been playing and writing songs for decades and in that time, I have worked with many artists, either as a songwriter, singer or guitarist. I enjoy collaborating with enthusiastic people in any kind of genre. I've been fortunate enough to have worked with many publishers and record companies. As you'll hear from the songs posted underneath, I like strong commercial hooks and I'm always aiming for a radio friendly composition when I write. Most of the songs here that have been released have all had radio play across the world and the song "Whatever I Choose I Lose" was the song of the week on BBC2 Radio 2 (Europe's biggest station at the time.) As an Artist I like to sing in the genre of classic Soul, such as Curtis Mayfield and Marvin Gaye, but when writing for others it's a real joy to step into different categories. Michael Goode Michael Goode was born and raised mostly in Panorama City, California, with his later childhood years being raised in Pacoima, California. He grew up in a neighborhood full of adversity amongst the wild. It seemed that everyone from his neighborhood came from broken homes, with family members on drugs, and being surrounded by gang violence. To escape the madness, one had to find some kind of outlet to keep busy and away from the streets. After experiencing many life-threatening situations, Michael found music as his way out. A friend of Michael’s pulled him away from his destructive atmosphere by introducing him to a music engineer/producer who allowed him to record in a studio called Enterprise, which was located in Burbank, California. This studio was amazing and always full of superstars, such as Snoop Dogg, Will Smith, Brittany Spears, Beyoncé, Ja Rule, and DMX, just to name a few. He was inspired by his new surroundings and discovered what he wanted to do with his life. To solidify this life choice, certain superstars started to recognize his talents, providing encouragement to push forward. With the inspiration from the studio, Michael formed a group called the “Street Chiefs.” They consisted of 6 members, each one having super talent in their musical abilities. They were likened to the Wu-tang Clan of the west coast. Their first truly solid opportunity to rise to the top came from Interscope Records, when Jimmy Lovine asked them to perform on a show called “Farm Club,” along with another group called Lifehouse. The Street Chiefs ended up getting the favored vote after that performance. This resulted in being offered a music deal. Unfortunately, their management at that time mishandled the operations of the deal, which in turn crushed their chances to proceed. The group tried to move on from that experience and to stay focused on their original goal. But their efforts were not strong enough and led to the separation of the band, with every member deciding to go solo. This is when Michael’s true journey began. He never stopped working hard, believing that music was his destiny. With this musical fire inside of him, Michael wrote music non-stop and started recording nothing less than 4 songs a day. He was soon recognized by an independent label called Barnabus Entertainment, who was partnered up with Snoop Dogg. They offered him a deal for a single, which he still has in play. His name started buzzing around town as a force to be reckoned with, which helped him to get recordings with known artists such as Ty Dolla $, Lyrica Anderson, Teedra Moses, and many more. But at this point, Michael was starting to learn the business and knew that it was in his best interest to stay independent until the right situation presented itself. And then the day came when Michael was asked to go into a session with an upcoming artist for a huge project to act as a “co-manager” as a favor for his actual manager. He showed up 30 minutes early for the appointment, excited to learn the world of synch placements from the ground up. No one expected that the artist was going to show up 2 1/2 hours late. As the clock was ticking, the producer of the project got more and more irritated from the artist’s tardiness and asked Michael if he happened to know how to write songs. He replied with an emphatic, “YES, I DO!” The opportunity pulled him through that door. Michael delivered and they loved the song that he wrote. After that, more opportunities started to come his way. He received a call to write songs for Monster Energy and he flourished again. As a result, Monster Energy asked him for an EP, which ended up turning into 4 EP’s in total. This is how Michael became a full-time writer. At this point in his career, he has mastered his gift. He continues to write songs daily and can figure out a way to deliver no matter the genre. He is currently a songwriter with Run+Gun Music, a music production company specializing in writing, producing and licensing original songs and scores for television, film, commercials.
