Oeverse muzikant, 'The Troubadour' schrijft lied over oorlog in Oekraïne 8 maart 2022, 13.48 uur . De 72-jarige Robert Makreel, uit Den Oever heeft een lied geschreven over de oorlog in Oekraïne: 'Hold back your guns'. "Ik zou wel graag willen dat het nummer wordt gedraaid", zegt de muzikant die schrijft en zingt onder de naam The Troubadour. "Ik had het nummer in anderhalve dag geschreven." Robert Meekel was, voor hij in 1985 bij de offshore ging werken, beroepsmuzikant. Hij trad op met bandjes, kwam in cafés, restaurants en maakte muziek voor ouderen en mensen met een handicap, ook in het buitenland. Toen hij een gezin kreeg, koos hij voor een vast inkomen. Inspiratie Maar nu hij met pensioen is, heeft hij zijn oude liefde weer opgepakt. "Ik ben ook met oude teksten bezig en heb regelmatig inspiratie. Zo is dit nummer ook ontstaan. Het stond in anderhalve dag op papier." In zijn eigen studio aan huis heeft hij het nummer opgenomen, net als de andere tientallen nummers die hij heeft geschreven. "Er staan 54 liedjes op mijn naam."

Torn Chorus is the performing name of singer/songwriter Franklin Davis. His songwriting covers a range of styles including folk, blues, acoustic and progressive rock. He plays all the instruments himself, with recording, mixing and production completed in his home studio in Auckland, New Zealand. Recordings and videos are available on most major streaming sites and can also be accessed on the Torn Chorus website: www.tornchorus.com Many of the songs describe life in New Zealand, but the themes also have international appeal. Videos feature New Zealand landscape and settings, as well as locations around the world.

Soft Tissue Damage is Australian-Uruguayan musician Carlos Camacho's solo project. Also known as Cucharita the bass guitarist and co-founder of Latino rock outfit KuKO, Carlos is the main producer of Soft Tissue Damage and has been involved in music recording and playing overseas in many genres such as rock, hip hop, and funk. Soft Tissue Damage is deep, dance, hardcore with the eighties and indie feel. Music made for raves, festivals and dance parties, but also for listening and chillin'.

Thanks for checking out my profile! I grew up in the 60's and 70's on the west coast. I started playing music when I saw The Beatles on Ed Sullivan as a child. My friends were musicians, my childhood was centered around well known artists of the time. I love music. Music gave and gives me purpose. I used to be Head of Creative at Reason Studios before I quit to pursue my own creative projects. I write concise and playful lyrics, melodies and hooks for pop and rock. Also I am a decent vocalist, keyboard player and drummer.

I love making music for my family and friends. I have been away from music for quite some time, and I am looking forward to creating songs again.
