Teardrop aka Simon Dawes is a songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and former member of Indie band Blackhill Pioneers, hailing from Basildon a town in Essex in the UK. His new single 'Helpless Drones' was released on 14th June 2024 and featured long term term colloboraters Chris Mcconville(Drums &Bvs) and mixers/producers Lee & Jolee Popa, Shel Criben from the band BE also features on Bvocals.

Hi folks, thanks for checking out my profile. I am a private music teacher for piano, voice, flute, and also direct a group of singers called The Shantymen. I perform solo and with bands, my main gig being with The Woolley Jumpers. I've finished recording an album titled Virgo Rising, the release is on the way. My original music has been waiting a long time to be shared, some of these songs are 20 years old! I'm so excited to finally put it out there, trusting it will find its way to those who resonant with these songs. When I write a song, it usually serves as medicine for me, singing my way through dark times in the search of hope and peace. I hope this music can serve you in such a way, bringing comfort and ease, empowerment, joy, release, whatever you need in that moment!

Nocturnal Solitude was formed and founded on September 23 of 2007 by Tomas Hrafnasen. With love for Gothic / Funeral / Death Doom never ceasing, he still wanted pursue his musical attributes. In 1996, the formation of a Goth Rock band called Eternal Rest, was created. Things went down hill and went sour fast. Quite a few members had been kicked out for drug use. Quitting seemed to be the right thing to do, but at the same time he wanted to find people who were and are reliable. The search was hopeless. Then in 2007 is when the idea arose of doing music solo came to mind, but had no idea how to go about doing it. He acquired some help from a few musician and band friends on Myspace and with the right equipment, is what started the Dark Ambient, Gothic, Funeral, Death Doom project...Nocturnal Solitude.

Hardly ever, does someone feel that they have fully completed a work of Art. Just the statement alone, “a work of art” implies excellence, pride and most importantly, Completion. How does one tell when art is finished? In our own heads it seems that a project never reaches precision, and never ever completion. Now this may not be for everyone, but there’s a point in creativity when you feel you could do more harm than good by continuing onward. Except that when we do continue, we usually reach a place that we never though possible before. God gives us that inspiration and we hold ourselves back from realizing its full potential of our own fear of going beyond what we might perceive as good enough. For me, I know that I am still bridled by that innate fear of ruining something I’ve started, felt was finished, but should have taken further. The music I create as default_test_tone will try to break away from the default and become the melodic precision that I’m inspired from within my head.

I'm a schooled and seasoned guitarist and vocalist who runs my own studio in the wilds of Western Canada. The bio I'd originally put here was so long I couldn't save it; suffice to say I've played in so many bands I can't remember them all and I've done hundreds, if not thousands, of gigs. My students have gone on to land record deals, win awards and teach as well. Nice. Music: the universal language. Perhaps a song is worth a thousand words too. Check mine out.

THE NEITHER deals in two kinds of music: the electronic genre, sticking to ambient, noise, and hypnagogic beats; and acoustic music, with an indie-lilith expression on guitar, piano, and ukulele. Ferencz started as a guitarist and received vocal training, but due to constraints in living spaces and the inability to record or practice loudly at length, they took up electronic work in headphones instead. Over time that outlet turned into atmospheric, videogame-esque soundscapes. It was a different way to continue creating music, albeit one they slowly honed in on. As a songwriter and lyricist, Ferencz takes notes from stream-of-consciousness artists, believing that most thoughts should be laid out in full, or prose.
