Tarn PK is a Wellington, NZ based artist, producer and songwriter. 
 Having released two EP’s, ‘Fantasy’ (2019) and ‘Monarch’ (2021), and a single ‘Daylight’ (2020) Tarn is looking to explore new sonic worlds and develop a more distinct style, setting him apart from the surrounding landscape. 
 Having focused on more stripped back songwriting in the last EP, Tarn is starting to develop his first album of material, expanding into new sonic possibilities incorporating elements hyper pop, alt pop and more left of centre inflections. The first single ‘Street Noise’ is a bridge from a quieter, more personal world into a more bombastic and upfront sound.

I am a Producer, Engineer, Mixer and Violinst/Multi Instrumentalist. I worked my way through the classic big studio system in Australia before going freelance and relocating to New York in 2007. I established a name as a mixer with bands such as St. Lucia and Haerts, and worked with artists as wide ranging as Björk, Morcheeba and Bonaparte. I recently moved my studio to a little mountain side in LA and while mostly mixing Indie bands/artists, I am working more and more in the film world.

I was the guitarist and producer for Amusement Parks on Fire (V2, Invada) until 2011 Most recently I produced and/or mixed a number of songs for Sharon Van Etten including her most recent album "We've Been Going About This All Wrong", the preceding singles, "Porta" and "Used to it", I recorded her vocal for the Angel Olsen collaboration "Like I Used To" and produced, recorded and mixed their acoustic version also released as a single. Canadian-born, Brooklyn-based guitarist, producer, and beatmaker. My influences and styles are vast, ranging from jazz, hip-hop, blues, folk, rock, funk, soul and electronic music. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Jazz Guitar Performance from McGill University. Our co-produced EP "Guns That Shoot Bubbles" was released in May of 2015, and has gotten many powerful reviews on internationally recognized online blogs such as Okayplayer, AfroPunk, Soulbounce and Ebony. Past production releases include Canadian songstress Sarah MK’s album “Worth It” which received the “Editors Pick” at the 2011 world renown “Montreal International Jazz Festival” My debut release as a leader, entitled “Dreams”, is a tapestry of colors and moods; a blend of electronic/indie/beat/jazz influences. The album showcases my skills as a producer and beatmaker, and while not a guitar heavy featured project, manages to fuse many of my musical influences into one cohesive sonic vision. The album features several New York City musicians, notably veteran drummer Obed Calvaire, vocalist Mike “Maz” Maher, woodwind genius Sly5Ave, violinist Lisanne Tremblay, drummer David Frasier and multi-instrumentalist Jesse Fischer.
