MO the Great is a multi-talented producer, MC, and activist hailing from Boston, MA, with roots deeply embedded in the historic neighborhood of Roxbury—home to iconic artists such as GURU of Gangstarr, New Edition, and Donna Summer. MO’s musical journey began in the church as a children’s choir soloist, where her love for melody took root. Grounded in her research on ethno-racial trauma healing through music. Her music serves as both an homage to hip-hop traditions and an exploration of its limitless potential, combining futurist soundscapes with lyrical depth.Drawing from her Nigerian-American heritage, with paternal roots in Lagos and Ijebu-Igbo Balogun traditions and maternal ties to a rich Black-American lineage, MO the Great masterfully fuses cultural influences into her self-produced sound.
