About Jeff Stepien
Jeff Stepien is a multi-instrumentalist who performs on saxophones, clarinets, flute, vocal drums (beatboxing), and guitar. He has an in-house recording studio to professionally record parts for your project. He also conducts, composes, arranges, and transcribes all styles of music, including jazz, blues, R&B, pop, rock, and classical. Jeff is the featured soloist on tenor saxophone for the opening track, "It Was You" by Carolyn Kelly with the Roosevelt Dean Blues Band on the studio-recorded CD "Keep All My Secrets", as well as part of the horn section for the entire CD. Roosevelt Dean was a SAMMY Lifetime Achievement award winner (Syracuse Area Music Awards). Jeff has performed in groups ranging from symphony orchestras, wind bands, and saxophone quartets to rock bands, jazz combos, jazz bands, and professional musical pit orchestras. Currently, he performs with the professional Oswego City Band and is a professional music educator. His most recent recording, The Four Seasons by Antonio Vivaldi arranged for saxophone ensemble, is due to be released soon. Jeff toured for six months as a musician aboard Holland America Lines' MS Noordam. He has performed with world-renowned jazz artists Kenny Werner, John and Jeff Clayton, Jiggs Wigham, and Mulgrew Miller while in the top jazz ensemble at CCM, as well as Vincent Herring and Scott Wendholdt while at Ithaca College. He has also performed in masterclass with trumpet and jazz master Wynton Marsalis, as well as brought his students to Wynton's Jazz for Young People concert/masterclass. His saxophone instructors include Steven Mauk, Rick VanMatre, James Bunte, Jeremy Long, and John Spillett. Jazz instructors include Steve Brown, Phil DeGreg, Paul Piller, John Von Ohlen, and Steve Frank. In 2009, Jeff was selected as a winner and can be seen in the YouTube Internet Symphony Global Mash-Up video contest.
