Greg Hathaway’s musicianship, singing, songwriting and performing stretch over three decades. In that time, he has curated a catalog of original material that reflects an eclectic appreciation for music intersecting with life. He is especially interested in the connections between music and social/relational change, and how music informs community and social action. Music often travels to where words and ideas cannot go. The poet Rumi writes, “Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing there is a field. I’ll meet you there. When the soul lies down in that grass, the world is too full to talk about.” Throughout his journey of playing and performing over thirty years, Greg has experienced the ways that music invites us to this field. His hope is that you might leave his performance with fullness of heart and a deeper appreciation for that which cannot be measured but nonetheless renews, refreshes and perhaps even resurrects us.
