Johnie has performed or has recording credits with, The Gang’s Back, Jara Harris & Slapbak, Chocolate Soup, Rough Ryders, FBC, The Mosse, E-40, ZAPP & Roger Troutman.
I play the Golden Throat Talkbox, using a Yamaha DX-100 a la Roger. I have since 1995 when I befriended Roger Troutman on a tour through California. Roger gave me the secrets to his sound and his production techniques, guitar riffs, gear and how he plays the Talkbox. You need some Talkbox work a la Roger, or some funk guitar a la, Roger, then get with the best. R.I.P. Roger
Bray Gurnari, is credited on 6 tracks of the debut “Revolution’ LP with the Punk Funk Mob. Recently in 2020, Johnie had recording credits with, Too Short, Baby Bash, and The Punk Funk Mob’s respective singles to be released in 2021.

Hey there, my name is David, but I go by D4. I'm a music project manager, freelance music marketer, artist assistant, blogger and content creator. I'm a swiss army knife when it comes to helping artists.
I’ve had a hand in almost every aspect of a music career, except the making of music itself. This includes booking, performance contracts, planning & executing music releases, web design, membership sites (Patreon), e-commerce (Squarespace), producing social media content, tour management and online marketing. My newest role/position is project manager for Mobile Home Recordings.
I also write for D4 Music Marketing, which is an online blog I created to educate new and emerging independent artists about marketing and the music business.
In addition to music marketing, I also help artists create content as a photographer and videographer.
My tastes in music are in Hip Hop and R&B with and some electronic, which is naturally going to be the type of artists I'm more likely to work with.

Boston, MA, United States
I am a Boston-based Producer & Mixing/Mastering Engineer, providing clients from all over the world with Grammy-ready tracks.
Though my musical background is in jazz piano, I realized early on that I wanted to be a versatile and complete musician - now I am a producer who plays keys, guitar & bass, and an engineer that can produce a high-fidelity mix & master to boot.
Within a year of launching my services professionally, my client base ranged from Pop to Singer/Songwriter, Rock and Hip Hop artists, and included individuals and groups from all over the US all the way to London.
My productions are tasteful, dynamic, and exciting. Whether you are going for a synth-heavy pop sound, a stripped down acoustic vibe, or a smooth RnB groove, I promise to make your track captivate your listener.
My mixes have a clear, present vocal sound, warm and punchy low end, and a rich midrange my masters are full, balanced, and loud (while still being dynamic). I have an efficient, tried & tested workflow that consistently blows my clients away.
My passion is bringing my clients' songs to life - I can't wait to hear yours.
If you have questions about working together, please don't hesitate to reach out.

With my skills obtained over the past 2 decades, I aim to create new sound, and even a whole new genre that will reshape how music is understood.
I spend my time creating new sonic sensations clashing genres of all scapes, from the creation of “Anchovies & Ice Cream” to our soon-to-be realized products and upcoming album “Noir”.
I work for “Dust Gang records” as a musical consultant, production, and musical consultations/ marketing/branding department for “Budo kiba” record label and create my own music as “Palu,” from “Paluyota,” and "Abbott”.
Having connected with artists such as “the Internet”, “Clerel”, “Wayne Tennant”, “Paul Cargnello”, “Khudo soul”, "Uni-G" even “Edo Lee” (one of the forefathers of Low-fi), the musical platform has become my outlet towards connecting with greater artists.

Bass player, mixing engineer and producer based in Montreal.
On bass selection: from Standard to esoteric I’ve got you covered.
Fender Precision into an Ampeg B-15 with Fet 47 microphone and direct line, recorded through an API preamp and API compressor, is great standard. It is deep, organic, punchy and sits in the mix perfectly.
Other sounds: A Gibson hollow-body bass, a Fender Mustang, a Rickenbacker, a Jazz Bass, A slapped or picked Music Man, Synth bass, Fuzz bass, a Spector or Steinberger... No problem! Great bass tone is my thing.
Effects: I’ve extremely lucky to have worked with thousands of artists in effects selection to craft the sounds that inspired their next song.
If you can dream of the sound, I'll generate it.
Mixing: Today I use Universal Audio plug-ins. In the past I've recorded with Neve and SSL consoles, used all the outboard gear, recorded to tape. So that sound is in my DNA. Mixing in the box allows me to make revisions more quickly, work on multiple projects simultaneously and work from anywhere.
I do miss the days of being in downtown studios, Mixing on SSL consoles, (...but not that much.) The results from mixing in the box today 100% using plugins at home with my monitors, are as good or better. But more importantly it’s simpler to modify older projects and work when I’m inspired.
Tracking: I still like old School tracking. Live performance through tube microphones and live instruments, as much as possible, is my preference) (depending on the genre) editing as sparingly as possible. I believe in honest, live, emotional human performance.
Sequencers are great (when appropriate) and I love locked in tracks, but if it can be performed by a human, the results are usually much better. I am a stickler, and I work with solid players with high standards.
On guitars: I've worked with dozens and dozens of vintage and boutique guitar amps and cabinets. From amp settings to miking techniques to pedal & amp combinations, Real-world reaping or Kemper Profile or VST, I can help your guitar tracks sit just right.
I can do acoustic tracks, funk or pop rhythm guitars, top-line hooks, ambient guitars, rock riffs, and synth-guitar.
If you need a referral for a specialty session musician, I can recommend plenty and host and run the session to get the best tones and performances, while tracking the session Live or by re-amping. Or in a remote session.
Keyboards: I'm a sound designer so programming classic analog synths patches is my specialty. I program patches on MOOG grandmothers, MOOG Phatty or the MOOG ONE or VSTs. Or vintage Roland analog poly synths ( the JX8p is my current coups de cœur)
Synth bass: MIDI, or Analog Moog-bass, Roland GR-77B Synth bass or Roland Gr300 synth guitar lines & pads for pop, indy, industrial, or soundtracks. maybe you need to double a track that's already been laid down. Maybe you're producing a band and need a ghost to replace the existing tracks... Doable
Partnership: A partner to help carry the project forward who can keep the big picture in mind. I have a degree in both Music and Economics. I am always gigging, recording, and touring. I ran an SSL-equipped studio and a Tone boutique downtown Montreal. I've been a national brand manager (Zoom) and franchise development manager. I understand that you have constraints, budgets, and that you may not know exactly what you want until you've heard it, but you still have deadlines. You need a partner.
Art: You're an artist. You're a composer. Your a singer songwriter wondering what to do next. You’re a filmmaker or brand manager. You want to realize your vision. You need your recording project to move three steps forward. I get it. That's what I'm here for. Let's do it then decide to do it again. Project after project.

I have spent my life cultivating my dual passions of songwriting and creating retro-styled graphic art.
I've always been intrigued by the imperfections generated by the physical printing process, particularly on mid-century concert posters and matchbooks, and I've tried to give the artwork that I've created for many satisfied clients the soul that vintage printing processes naturally generate.
Layouts for vinyl gatefolds, cd booklets, cassette J-cards... setting art up for press is a specialty of mine, but hit me up for any neo-retro graphic needs you may have. I look forward to hearing from you!
