Multitalented Artist/Actor Gq Statuss Gq Statuss was born Wayne Eric Mccollum and was raised in Brooklyn New York. At the age of eight years old he realized that music was his escape from his inner- city troubles. He started recording freestyles of himself over break beats on his mother's answering machine. As the years went by he began to write his lyrics down and recite them to his close friends and family, helping him to perfect his skills. During High School, he formed a group called I.C.F (illegal crime fam) who landed a record deal with Legendary Jam Master Jay of The Iconic Rap Group Run DMC. While on JMJ Records the group went on tour with artist such as Onyx, Special Ed, Sweet T, 50 Cent, JayO Felony, Fam-Lee and more. I.C.F. recorded their first Single on JMJ Records called, ”Now Or Never” which never was released do to the passing of Jam Master Jay. R.I.P. From the Stage to T.V. In 2001 GQ landed a co-starring role in New Line Cinema's / BET & Tribeca Films Prison song.
