About Ditchweeddiesel
Ditchweed Diesel was founded in 2003 by Jack Hojnar, who turned a late-in-life passion for guitar into a full-fledged alt-country, Americana, and roots rock project. The band has evolved over the years, with its longest-running lineup featuring David Thompson (bass) and Jeff Teppema (guitar, fiddle). Now based in Milwaukee, Jack collaborates with studio musicians and longtime engineer Mike Hagler at King Size Studios in Chicago. Known for its rich blend of mandolins, fiddles, keys, and driving rhythms, Ditchweed Diesel has played iconic Chicago venues like Martyrs’, Abbey Pub, and Cubby Bear, plus festivals like Taste of Chicago. With six albums released, their seventh, Chase the Wind, arrives in April 2025. Recorded at King Size Studios, it showcases Jack’s evolving sound and heartfelt storytelling. Stay tuned for new music and keep chasing the wind.
