Dimitri Arnauts (°1973) is a composer who has dedicated himself to uplift and delight hearts, souls and minds through the reaffirmed beauty of melody, harmony, polyphony and counterpoint, and through the innumerable colors of instruments and human voices. He has written numerous works of various sizes and settings, being mainly cantatas, psalms, oratorios, concertos, symphonies and symphonic poems, and other vocal or orchestral works. As an autodidact, Dimitri feels free to follow the paths of his heart, both in the aesthetics of his music as in the emotion and message it aims to convey. He does his work to the best of his abilities, in recognition of received graces and gifts, having nothing in sight but the elevation of the spirit, the delight of the soul and the enchantment of the heart. Loving to be at the humble service of Goodness, Truth and Beauty - and bearing this service and testimony with joy and gratefulness towards the Creator - he established from the very beginning the foundations of his musical art on the Western tradition of tonal harmony, euphony, complex polyphony, fugue and counterpoint. This science of the art of music writing, he wanted to rediscover it for himself and learn it in an autonomous manner: without theoretical study or academic recipe-books that would have him ending up fixed, dried out and losing his path to peer pressure... instead, by following only the voice of his heart, the means and visions of intuition, the desire of his soul and the capabilities of his spirit. ?Musically, Dimitri Arnauts admits humbly and gladly to be a modest and indebted disciple of the great Johann Sebastian Bach, at whose service he had the privilege to be moved, formed and inspired - through a year-long vocal practice of his Cantatas, Passions, Oratorios as a chorister. He has published four albums of original music online, comprising organ solo works, choral works, vocal improvisations, electronic six-part fantasies, piano and synthesizer musings, symphonic poems and two full-length concert movies, totaling about 12 hours of new music, as well as numerous creative art videos and music clips. ?His music has been premiered, performed or recorded internationally in various places: Belgium (BOZAR Brussels, Duisburg), Poland (Slovacki Theater Krakow, Tokarnia), United Kingdom (Chester, London), Germany (Hamburg), Lebanon (Beirut), Austria (Vienna), USA (New York, Princeton, etc...) ?During the COVID-19 Confinement period, he composed and produced a set of music videos with new original soundtracks, in collaboration with several established or upcoming artists from the USA, Lebanon, Austria, Belgium, Japan, Poland, Angola, Puerto-Rico, Kenya and Hungary. These video's were nominated for and awarded a High Commendation in the category 'Best Digital Project for a Musician' at the 2020 Classical Music Digital Awards in the United Kingdom. In Autumn 2022, Dimitri's first full-size chamber opera will be created at the Laeiszhalle-Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, Germany. With an eclectic mix of genre, and distinct vocals, my music will take you on a journey of imagination. I am a multi-instrumentalist, playing Trumpet, Saxophone, Percussion, Bass, Piano, Ukulele and Guitar. My sound has been described as a mix between Hozier, Sufjan Stevens, and a young Leonard Cohen. I go under the name Scalawag, and I will be sure to both make you nostalgic for things you've never experienced, and keep your head bopping and your torso grooving. I grew up in the small town of Smithers, B.C. in a very artistic household: my Mother, a painter, writer, and magazine publisher; my dad, a graphic designer, set designer and guitarist/singer. From an early age, I was exposed to live music, attending concerts and music festivals around northern B.C. I started playing music when I received my first guitar at age 7 and continued throughout elementary and high school where I played tenor saxophone and trumpet in several school bands, and sang in the jazz and choral choirs. My career in music began the year after I graduated high school when I and long time friend, Zak Windle, started writing music together under the name Ranger Smash. We co-produced and released our first 10-track album together in June, 2016. During this time, I was also attending the conservatory acting program at Studio 58 in Vancouver where I honed my crooneresque style, and developed my vocal technique. After graduating, I went on to write, record and self-produce my first solo album under the name Scalawag, released in March, 2019, during my Album release tour. More recently, I released two singles “Touch” in late 2020, getting tagged “The silky smooth articulation…We are in love!” By Tonemill, and garnering a 90% score on Submithub. My subsequent single “You On My Mind,” released in February 2021 to critical acclaim "Scalawag soothes your spirit while filling you with the warm blossoming energy of falling in love" -The Other Side Reviews. "The atmospheric elements of this track really set it apart in a crowded folk scene right now." -Ear to the Ground.

Recording engineer, producer and mixer. I've been lucky enough to work with talents of all ranges from superstar rock icons to local bands. All of that experience comes through in my work to help the artist achieve the best results possible.

With 30+ years in the business, working for and collaborating with a multitude of commercially successful artists, producers, DJs, film composers and advertising agencies, I am always looking for fresh projects that challenge my audiophile mind. In my own studio, I usually write & produce in Ableton Live, and record, mix and master in ProTools. Happy in either environment, I sometimes use both concurrently via Rewire. I did a *lot* of remixing in the 90s and 00s, and still enjoy doing so. Leftfield and experimental sound design have always been favourites of mine, as well as composing to picture. Composition for TV advertising in New York, and collaboration on a number of feature films with the named composers brought plenty of sound to picture experience, and I taught Audio Post Production at Full Sail, Orlando. I started mastering for a number of random projects a while back, and the constantly happy clients have push me to also offer this service. Try it out for yourself!

I am an Ableton Live expert who is working at two major electronic music schools in London, teaching and developing courses at BA degree level. I am also a producer and live performer with over twenty years experience working across many underground electronic genres. I am used to giving detailed and constructive feedback as an everyday part of my high-level teaching role. I teach all aspects of music production, sound design or live performance (including audio-visual work) and focus on using the Ableton Live software for my tuition and own productions – but am familiar with other DAWs and media production tools as well. To know yourself and accept yourself can be one of life’s greatest challenges. But what I do know about myself is that I have a gift for creating and that art has always been my main passion. Ever since I could pick up a crayon I would draw, and at a young age I dreamt of being a comic book artist. As my teenage years went by I picked up playing guitar, and music quickly became another major influence on my life. Upon graduating high school I went to a local community college for Art/Graphic Design. I disliked the program, failed my first year, and switched my academic focus to the Recoding Arts and to Music. Within a few years I had 2 degrees in the Recording Arts (Full Sail University) and 1 in Music Business (Full Sail University) and a job at a major audio production house in NYC (HSR|NY). In 2011 I moved back to my hometown of Wilkes-Barre, Pa. settled into a house and starting working for my Grandfathers business in HVAC. During this time I put together a professional home recording studio, played in bands, taught myself piano, and networked with local artists. In 2019 I began questioning my life, and purpose. I started reading a lot of books, and listening to a lot of Alan Watts. Somewhere in my readings I discovered sacred geometry and it instantly struck a chord. After 13yrs of not drawing I picked the pencil back up and started drawing geometry at work during my downtime. When Covid19 hit the United States, I got laid off from work and found myself with a lot of time on my hands; so I started drawing for hours a day. Shorty after without any expectation, my art got noticed. Over a short course of a few months I have done art for restaurants, sold commissioned works, and have received recognition globally from businesses, artists, and fans. I have recently been asked to have my work featured in galleries, and am in the process of designing a clothing line and doing album art. 3 of my greatest influences are Rafael Araujo, Daniel Martin Diaz, and Andy Gilmore.
