I'm an engineer, drummer and percussionist who's worked with the Ottawa Symphony Orchestra and The National Art Center Orchestra, Capital Brass Works, along with many other bands and ensembles. I made the move to Montreal as a drummer and audio engineer in 2011 and became a full-time freelancer. I've toured extensively throughout 2013, and since returning to Montreal I've been working mainly as a recording and mixing engineer. I had a chance to work on 2 Felix winning albums, with Alex Desilets, Windigo and Laurence Jalbert, Ma Route, and was recently recording engineer for the Juno and Canadian Folk Music Award-nominated album Hapax, by the band Oktopus (who I now play drums with). As for the genre of music that I work on, I don't necessarily decide that for myself, but it gets determined by the projects I get hired to work on. I like music that's been well-honed, and the importance of the genre for me is secondary to that. I find the music itself tells me where to take the sound, and by having good communication with the artist/s we can make sure we're thinking along the same lines, plus I get to learn what the artist hears/has in mind. When I do work on a new genre, I like to find new tricks that associate with that genre, but I also have a bag of my own tricks that I can bring to the table, which helps me bring a different light to a common sound.

Skyler Vittorini (born Roberto Reale on May 23rd 1995 - Sicily, Italy), is a prolific record producer and songwriter renowned for crafting genre-defying soundscapes that seamlessly blend electronic and organic elements. With a keen ear for innovation, Vittorini has become a driving force in the music industry, shaping the sonic landscape with a fusion of beats, melodies, and lyrical depth. Multilingual, he’s the first (and only) independent artist from Sicily breaking on the iTunes Italy Top 50 Charts for Hip-Hop/Rap in Italy with a self-produced record. Award winning songwriter and founder of music production house and music label Blekkett, he’s also a philanthropist, contributing to reforestation with the royalties coming from his music.

I’ve worked for more than three decades in the arts, as a musician, an educator, an author and an artist. I’ve worked on three records nominated for Juno awards; published multiple books with Bloomsbury and Oxford University Press, among other notable imprints, on the subject of popular music and record making, one of which currently resides in the Reading Room of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame; and I even won a Governor General's medal in 2006, at only 28 years of age, for my PhD research in the area of record production and media ecology. Since then I’ve been an associate professor of popular music studies at Western University, in London (Ontario), teaching primarily songwriting and project paradigm record production. I have always been an avid fan (and maker) of collage. I’m totally fascinated by the weird brain states the medium provokes in viewers, as the obviously mass produced print ephemera of disposable consumer culture assembles to create totally new and unique visual experiences.

I am the lead guitarist in the multi million selling Scottish band Texas. London based, I do any and all guitar related work. Sessions, teaching, making samples for LANDR, etc. I also have an alt Americana project called Red Sky July. I like to keep myself busy and have a deep love of music.

Sound and its many forms (Music, Field Recordings, Comedy, Talk Radio, Podcasts, Lectures, Machine Noises, etc) have been a fascination for me since I was a young boy. Recording the world around me, writing songs and skits, and manipulating sounds have held my attention for most of my life. I've played in bands since I was a young teen, and eventually found minor success and much satisfaction, when I moved to Minneapolis, MN in 2002 and dove into the music scene there. I eventually met my bandmates and we formed a band called Estate. As a member of Estate, I have toured, released albums, eps, and remixes, and placed/licensed dozens of tracks to various television programs, and even film. During this time in Estate, I also began my career and a professional postproduction broadcast mix engineer, sound designer, and composer. Tirering of the advertising world, I changed paths to focus on my family, spirituality, and sustainability. To this end, we sold everything in Mpls and moved our family to rural northwest MN. We now live on an old 40-acre dairy farm in the mystical Leaf Mountains in beautiful Ottertail County. Our two daughters, three cats, two dogs, 30 chickens, and our beloved forested hills, form a small but wonderful world that my wife and I enjoy immensely. Music remains an integral part of my life, identity, and income. I produce using Ableton live (user since 2004 v2 I believe), guitars, basses, synths, and of course a wide palette of VST instruments, VST effects, and other digital goodies.
