About Tonysha Nelson
As one of the grandchildren of the legendary George Clinton, Tonysha got involved in singing at a very young age. She joined the ranks of her grandfather’s band Parliament Funkadelic at 20 years old, as a back up singer. She still tours with P-Funk worldwide, allowing her to perform at sold-out venues in front of stadium packed crowds. Tonysha has always been a student to the industry and remains one in an effort to continuously groom her gifts and talents. A few of her influences include Teedra Moses, Monica, Karen Carpenter, Chaka Khan, Tina Turner, The Isley Brothers and more. Her Lyrics illustrate a variety of fresh serene and acoustic R&B and pop, with a sprinkle of funk. Nelson had the privilege of sharing the stage with a variety of other major performers, while singing back-up in her grandfather’s band.
