About Ron

Ron Bracale’s Music has a high energy essence of creative vitality, yet always has a flow which allows a blissful meditative state. Ron’s Music is a unique and cutting edge exploration into the potential of music to carry the listener to realms beyond the ordinary. Ron’s Music is not limited to a specific style or genre. Ron Bracale is a musician and composer with a focus on Shakuhachi and Ancient Pueblo Flutes. Ron studied with several great musicians. First Ron studied with jazz flutist Bob Ledner, learning music theory including classical, blues, and rock styles. Then Ron studied with Montino Bourbon, a masterful sarod player, who taught Ron the basics of the North Indian Raga musical system. Ron studied with Ernie Krivda Jr., a famous jazz sax player, and learned enough jazz theory to understand and incorporate the perspective of improvisation and changes into his music. Ron then studied Shakuhachi, the Japanese Zen vertical bamboo flute, with Michael Chikuzen Gould, a Grandmaster Shakuhachi player. Ron now has a strong focus on Shakuhachi. Ron has also studied Just Intonation extensively and incorporates the natural harmonics in his playing and composing. Ron has been a member of the bands ‘Minstrels of Enchantment’ and ‘Gaia Avatara’. Gaia Avatara opened for several international acts. Since then Ron has played many solo gigs and as well as providing a background soundscape for events. Ron has released dozens of solo CDs since playing in those bands.
