About Patrick Michael Wickham

An award-winning composer/lyricist (BMI, Sparks and Wiry Cries, NATS art song, et. al.), Patrick Michael Wickham specializes in blending classical technique with modern idioms creating a theatrical/cinematic flare to his commercial works. As a songwriting "sommelier" he has helped evolve the music of numerous artists from plain to poignant, thus helping them acquire high-level management, development and distribution from marquis commercial labels. Mr. Wickham began his career as a medically-trained voice physiologist and one of the most-respected voice specialists in the country as a master teacher in the fields of functional and performance mechanics, later serving as the PDP (Professional Development Program) Director of the New York Singing Teachers' Association. A highly-accomplished actor and vocalist, his professional credits have included operatic and musical theatre engagements spanning over twenty years in venues ranging from Broadway to major opera houses and concert halls all over the world and as a featured performer on Cunard's Queen Mary 2. Mr. Wickham has been featured as an vocal consultant/expert for Inside Edition, Vh1, and ESPN, Time Out, The New Yorker, Backstage and the Village Voice. His students include many celebrities and professional singers who have appeared on and off Broadway as leads and supporting players in over eighty shows nationally, as well as principal and supporting performers at tier 1 opera houses across the country and Europe. His students are signed with record labels such as Jive, Atlantic, Universal, Virgin, So So Def and Sony Music. He is a proud graduate of the EAMA program in Paris under his mentors Philip Lasser, Benjamin Boyle and Narcis Bonet, and will be joining the faculty in summer of 2022. In addition to studies in voice and composition at Vanderbilt University’s Blair School of Music, the Manhattan School of Music, and The Julliard School, Mr. Wickham has pursued studies in voice anatomy and physiology (specializing in developmental Otolaryngology) at the renowned Bill Wilkerson Center (Vanderbilt Medical School) under the tutelage of Dr. Robert Ossoff. He is also a proud student and protege of Maitland Peters, Chairman of the Voice Department at the Manhattan School of Music and a proud graduate of the William Esper Studio (having extensively studied with Mr. Esper for five years as both a student and teacher trainee). Mr. Wickham currently resides in Brooklyn, but has active studios in Miami, Atlanta and upstate New York.
