About Marcello Pimenta

Born in Niterói, Rio de Janeiro, Marcello Pimenta established himself as a professional electric bass player for over 10 years in Brazil before moving to New York City in 1998. There he appeared in live performances, radio and television, and CD recordings with the likes of O Chá, Mongol, Akundum, Mario Ruy and Osmindingu. He attended to the UFRJ Music School in Rio where he studied music theory and Musiart were he refined his instrument technique. The rich, lyrical and funky quality of his technique has become his trademark and keeps him in demand performing, recording and touring. He had one of his compositions ("Esse Samba') recorded by Ludmilla and released in Europe, Japan and U.S. by the Italian label Scenario Music in a compilation album devoted to promote Brazilian Jazz and Italian Lounge Music (Bossa'n'Go 3). Released a full Album alongside Vitor Salles & Rodrigo Rodrigues entitled 'Ruido na Rede", recorded remotely before the Pandemic. Currently producing artists in all over the world including New York, his home base.
