Justin Davis McClung

Born in Huntington, WV in 1978. Grew up on the sounds of classic rockers played through the magic of vinyl--I hated it as a 10-year old, but who knew I'd love it as a 45-year old. Only professional lessons I ever took were on the piano. Picked up a friend's bass as a 19-year old, and he showed me how to play the D-C-G progression for Sweet Home Alabama...that's all it took. Eventually switching to rhythm guitar and refining/expanding my instrumental repertoire over the years, I found myself taking on a primary vocals role in addition to my rhythm guitarist duties as one half of the on-again, off-again acoustic duo, eMpTy. My best bud of over 20 years picked up the better 50% of the group as the second vocalist and lead guitarist. As an amateur recorder and producer, I have mixed and mastered multiple cover tracks and several originals. I am currently working on my fourth EP, which will include a guest vocal appearance by none other than my musically-inspired, internally harmonious and naturally rhythmic daughter of 9 years.
