Joey Lamar

Joey Lamar is a Brooklyn-born self-taught artist, producer, and songwriter that shines from raw emotion injected into his sound. He began playing piano by ear at 8 years old, and by 14, was writing poetry and lyrics that expressed wisdom beyond his years. His teacher helped submit them for publication which in turn, awarded him a Creative Writing Award for compelling storytelling through written work. Joey's interest in producing was sparked from a sequencer from a video game, and he began teaching himself how to produce music using FL Studio in 2011. His creative works, pair vulnerability with edge by reflecting on moments from past nights spent in the city lights. Though life pulled him into demanding day jobs and challenges, music remained a constant. In 2025, he dove back into production fully, releasing his debut single “Caught You in a Lie” to major streaming platforms worldwide. Joey Lamar currently sings, writes, produces, and also markets his music independently.
