Joey Lamar is a Brooklyn-born self-taught artist, producer, and songwriter blending raw emotion with cinematic, genre-bending sound. He began playing piano by ear at just 8 years old, and by 14, was writing poetry and lyrics that felt far beyond his years. His teacher helped submit them for publication in their yearly Equinox book — later awarding him the school’s Creative Writing Award for compelling storytelling through written work. Joey taught himself how to produce music using FL Studio in 2011, fueled by a revived love for music sparked by a sequencer in a video game. His creative works, pair vulnerability with edge — reflecting on deep introspection from nights lost to city lights. Though life pulled him into demanding day jobs, music was a constant. In 2025, he dove back in fully, releasing his debut single “Caught You In A Lie” to major platforms worldwide. Joey writes, records, and markets his music independently — turning personal stories into unforgettable songs.
