About J.Clave
J.Clave is a DJ, Music Producer, and Percussionist based out of New York. He was raised listening to Salsa such as El Gran Combo and La Fania All Stars. His family would take him to see Salsa performances in Puerto Rico including Gilberto Santa Rosa, and Tito Rojas. It wasn't until 2016 in which he discovered his love for Electronic Music at his first festival called Mysteryland. This started his passion for music and his love for dancing. After months of enjoying the music scene he began to believe it was in his path to DJ. In 2018 he began to DJ and not long after began to produce his own music. He started to teach himself how to play the conga and joined drum circles. This really showed him the connection between African drumming and Salsa music. His music nowadays combines African and Latin rhythms with experimental synths creating an elevated, groovy, archaic experience.
