Hello, I am a graphic and visual arts designer who works primarily in the music industry space to create album artwork on a freelance basis. Below are some common questions I receive before a design project that might help you decide my qualifications How long have you been creating album covers? I have been creating album covers for several years now, specifically for artists within the Hip-Hop and contemporary music space. I have been graphic designing for even longer and was studying album artwork even before that. Being an artist in the music industry has also helped me gain a deeper understanding of the intricate role of cover art to a project, which has given me a stronger insight into its design and creation. Describe your recent experience with similar projects. I create album covers for my clients very regularly. Every client is highly satisfied and usually returns for future covers. I am used to adopting an artist’s vision and communicating frequently with them to track the vision to completion. Compromising quality is never an option. Describe your typical design process and methods. In my media I have been very influenced by the work of Kevin Hackett whose art has been featured in many predominant Hip-Hop and contemporary spaces. A key proponent of my thinking is asking myself “What would you not expect from a cover?” and then using that idea to frame the vision of the project. My actual design process occurs on a very strict timetable that allows me to provide quality work to my clients in shorter amounts of time.
