About King Pleasure

Born to to a single parent in working-class area of Brooklyn, rapper/Artist King Pleasure was born Badé Francis.Influenced by rap,soul and funk. Incessantly, soaking up the sounds of anything he could get his hands on .As he matured his love of music became even more eclectic and Hip Hop stayed center stage.Gang Starr, Dela Soul, Nas, A tribe called Quest, Public Enemy and Organized Confusion lit up his headphones.90's Hip Hop breathed life into his soul night and day. Between Club hopping and Abstract painting he wrote poetry which over time turned into rhymes. He made his debut as the 4th member of the spoken word group Second 2 Last .The group met in Pratt institute where the king studied Fine art and Illustration. Outspoken and ahead of there time Second 2 last dominated the underground spoken word scene of Yew York. They dropped 2 Full length projects Say Word and Babble On.They performed at lalapalooza and head lined and opened for many acts including the Roots and the Pharside. After the group Split up King Pleasure thought that was it and stepped away from the spotlight. Mentally blocked he threw himself into his art.Feeling that something was missing and frustrated with the current state of hip hop. King Pleasure once again picked up the pen.Heavily influenced by Black star,MF DOOM and Madlib he began recording tracks.An Activist, MC and Multi Media artist King Pleasure is ready to rock the world once again. "Cursed to fight the power, I'm the incredible King Pleasure. Measure for measure, when under pressure don't give me probable cause when push comes to shove it ain't all love.
