20+ years ago, before there was Scar After Scar or Uvula, there was me in a room with a bunch of equipment I didn't know how to use. The result of that is Swerve For the Girl. Despite all it's flaws -- my crappy playing, producing, and singing -- these are some pretty cool little alternative/punk songs. Now, in addition to tearing up the punk clubs in the Pacific Northwest with my band, Uvula, I record, mix, and master analog sound of all types -- punk, rock, metal, alternative, indie, jazz, big band, orchestra, chorale, duets, quartets, etc. My goal is always to showcase the performance. I want to bring the performance to life in the most compelling way and strip all the unnecessary BS out of it. Think more Steve Albini and less Butch Vig, although I love them both. To date, I have recorded, mixed, and mastered over 60 albums and countless singles, and live sessions. Influences: Those before me who have elevated sucking to an art form...

I am a singer songwriter, musician, composer and voice over from France. I work in a home studio with an AT4033 and a Bluebird on Ableton Live 11 connected to a Focusrite Saffire Pro 14. I can sing and speak in English or French, on a lot of different genres of music and kinds of productions. I am a professional musician since 2010 and got caught in the voice over business, that I am also passionate about, since 2020. I compose music for the theatre, I sing for commercials and I write songs under the name of White Velvet. I can lend my voice to advertisement, documentary, children's tales and more. My mother tongue is French but I got a licentiate degree in English and I spent a semester in England (Leeds Metropolitan University), where I acquired a lot of skills in the English pronunciation. For the 2022 documentary "Équipes Nationales" as for the currently broadcast perfume commercial "Mademoiselle Rochas", I worked as a singer, musician, and voice over in both English and French.

From an early age, I was exposed to live music, attending concerts and music festivals around northern B.C. I started playing music when I received my first guitar at age 7 and continued throughout elementary and high school where I played tenor saxophone and trumpet in several school bands, and sang in the jazz and choral choirs. My career in music began the year after I graduated high school when I and long time friend, Zak Windle, started writing music together under the name Ranger Smash. We co-produced and released our first 10-track album together in June, 2016. During this time, I was also attending the conservatory acting program at Studio 58 in Vancouver where I honed my crooneresque style, and developed my vocal technique. After graduating, I went on to write, record and self-produce my first solo album under the name Scalawag, released in March, 2019, during my Album release tour. More recently, I released two singles “Touch” in late 2020, getting tagged “The silky smooth articulation…We are in love!” By Tonemill, and garnering a 90% score on Submithub. My subsequent single “You On My Mind,” released in February 2021 to critical acclaim "Scalawag soothes your spirit while filling you with the warm blossoming energy of falling in love" -The Other Side Reviews. "The atmospheric elements of this track really set it apart in a crowded folk scene right now." -Ear to the Ground.

I am an award-winning composer and producer working in Film, TV & Immersive experiences, including many BAFTA and EMMY-winning productions. Past work includes the Holodome experience with Justin Timberlake, over 80 documentaries including those by Sir David Attenborough, blockbuster Animés such as Yugioh, SonicX & TMNT, feature films, and sonic brands such as IMAX and HULU Originals. While my music is primarily orchestral, I often bring World Music and Electronica elements into my work.

After obtaining a Bachelor's degree from McGill University, Ken pursued a full time music career. Starting with guitar performance for off-Broadway musicals in New York (NY) and in Montreal (QC), his career quickly gained traction. He continued performing on guitar, voice, percussion, keyboards and bass for many events such as: opening act for Mumford and Sons, Jazz Fest, 4 sold out Metropolis with the Franklin Electric, and Osheaga main stage. As a musician, in the last three years alone, he toured in over 18 countries with The Franklin Electric (Juno nominated), Patrick Lehman (Juno nominated), and others with roles in guitar, keys, vocals and bass. In addition to tours, he has performed across multiple nationally televised and broadcasted venues including: The Bachelorette Canada, ABC (national Australian radio), Canada AM, Radio Eins (Germany's premier radio), Qmusic (Danish T.V.), and Inas Nacht (German television with over 3 million viewers). Beyond performance, Ken has arranged (bass and guitar) on many records including Patrick Lehman's 'Buthcy's Son' (Juno nominated) and The Franklin Electric's 'Blue Ceilings'; 'In Your Head', and 'In Your Heart’. This initial experience has motivated a deeper commitment toward writing and arrangement for artists across North America across a range a styles that go beyond Ken’s original experience in country music. In particular, these genres now include folk, indie, pop and rock artists. Ken directly attributes this versatility in style to the successful production since 2018 alone of E.P.’s and singles for Velvet Black, Allison Fortier, Emilie Skahan, Lia, Delta Creek and many other Canadian and American artists.
