In 2016 I was selected as one of 10 finalists from around the globe for the Montreux Jazz Festival’s Guitar competition in Montreux, Switzerland. I have worked with artists such as J Cole, Ray Angry, J Hoard, STORRY, Gaël and Topaz Jones and have released 3 albums as a guitarist, as well as one instrumental album of productions and numerous other singles under the moniker “Billa Joints".

I take pride in being known as a versatile, precise, and expressive bass player, and can cover ground over many genres. I have performed with a wide array of artists including Sara Bareilles, Ledisi, Jordin Sparks, Our Lady J, Here We Go Magic, Martha Wash, Kate Nash, and Meatloaf. I was raised by a single mom/famous morning radio Dj of Top-40 hits, so I stared at the radio {3-yrs-old} instead of cartoons, to hear my mom's voice, being taught music of the late 80's and 90's, instilled into my brain the electronic sound of synth and pop. Today, I use all new modern pop sound, but that same synth and vocoding tools that people love and crave in their electronic familiarity. My only wish is to give more to those who listen to music. To give back that same passion that music brought to me at such a young age; that familiarity, that comfort that I craved as a young boy.

I was born into a family of musicians in the West Indies. I did not speak before the age of 4, but music has always been a natural language for me. At the age of 9, my grandfather, a jazz saxophonist, took me under his wing and encouraged me to learn the piano. It was thanks to him that I landed my first job as a jazz pianist when I was 16. Since then I have deepened my musical training up to a course in musicology at La Sorbonne (Paris) and through multiple artistic collaborations around the world. I have been a music teacher for the Academy of Versailles for 10 years. I notably composed the soundtrack of the short film « Pablo », awarded 3 times. Recently, I followed the masterclasses of Hans Zimmer, Herbie Hancock, Martin Scorsese, Danny Elfman & Timbaland. Among the artists who influence me there are also Mile Davis, Drake, Tchaikovsky and many others. Since Art is my love, I enjoy working with creative spirits and contributing to the pop culture of our digital age.

Music and I were destined to meet. It became my first love at the ripe age of five, and we’re still going strong after all these years. There wouldn’t be a Marco Cremaschini without a piano. Even though I have a pretty rich academic background, I started as a self-taught artist who took inspiration from those who were better than me. When I’m not performing, I teach modern piano at the “L’Altrosuono” school in Brescia and take up freelance gigs on online platforms.
