About Rick Cormier
I've been a musician most of my life, starting on drums in the 1960s and playing in rock bands through my teens. In the ’70s, I wrote and performed 180 original songs, hosted a cable TV show, recorded two albums, and starred in the musical, "Hair." After a sold-out 1981 concert, I shifted from guitar to electronic synthesizers, creating nearly 100 more songs under "Rick Cormier’s Music From Mission Control." At 40, I returned to drumming—this time as a hand drummer. I’ve drummed with two multi-Grammy winners. During the mid-90s, I learned that my old music had a following in Europe! In 2020, a radio station in Greece aired a two-hour tribute to that music. A retired psychotherapist specializing in anxiety and trauma, I’ve also written six humorous nonfiction books. Today, I can no longer sing or play guitar. But, after 43 years, I’m back to songwriting— teaching AI to create music and vocals that best express my lyrics. The name, "Music Control Revisited" seemed appropriate.
