About Sargasso
Sargasso’s entire catalog is a product of deep collaboration. All four members – Noah Goodman, Soledad Tejada, Maria Campos Saadi and Thomas Hagen – are songwriters, singers and multi-instrumentalists, but no one's style dominates their sound. Instead, the four mingle their experiences in indie rock, bossa nova, electronica, jazz and singer-songwriter traditions to forge eclectic releases where pop melodies swing easily into bright Brazilian rhythms and bloom out again into synthesizer swirls. The band’s collaborative ethos extends beyond recording. Sargasso’s live performances feel dynamic and participatory, with members trading instruments and lead vocals while audiences sing along. The group has also worked with video artists Ronan Day-Lewis, Emily Yue, and Julia Chu to create music videos for “Snow and Sun," "No Streetlights," and their newest single “Cherry Blossoms.”
