Born and raised in Syracuse, New York, DJ Afar is a seasoned hip-hop producer and DJ with deep roots in the culture. His passion for music was sparked during frequent trips to Brooklyn, where he immersed himself in hip-hop and the art of record digging. Since launching his career in the late '90s, DJ Afar has solidified his presence in the Syracuse music scene, performing at numerous venues and opening for legendary artists such as Ghostface Killah, Del The Funky Homosapien, Slick Rick, Mobb Deep, Cannibal Ox, and more. His turntablism skills have also been showcased on the competitive stage, having participated in the prestigious DMC World DJ Championships. Expanding his reach beyond the U.S., DJ Afar toured Europe and the UK in 2012. His expertise extends to the studio as well, with recording credits on tracks featuring Apollo Brown, Skyzoo, Westside Gunn, Conway the Machine, Edo G, Sadat X, Craig G, and L.I.F.E. Long.
