Akwainyang Gabriel Evanson, widely known by his stage name Sponzor, was born and raised in Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. From a young age, Sponzor displayed a passion for music, inspired by the vibrant cultural heritage of his hometown. In pursuit of his dreams, he relocated to Lagos in 2013, a move that would set the foundation for his musical career. Sponzor began crafting his unique sound, blending contemporary Nigerian music with traditional influences. His breakthrough came in 2020 when he released his debut single, "My Name," which showcased his artistic talent and garnered attention in the burgeoning music scene. Later that same year, he followed up with another single titled "Good Friend," further solidifying his position as a rising star. Alongside these original tracks, Sponzor created various covers, showcasing his versatility and ability to reinterpret popular songs with his distinct style.
