I came up in Montreal in the 2000’s, before signing an international record deal with Emi/Virgin UK in 2007 to work with Grammy & Juno winning producers in studios all over the world. Matt Gerhard is a Producer/Engineer/Multi-Instrumentalist based in Austin, TX. Matt is the Co-Owner of Hen House Recording and the Staff Engineer at Public Hi-Fi Studios. Over the past decade I have had the pleasure to work with artists like Spoon, !!!, Tennis, Future Islands, and Knife in The Water. As well as many leading producers including Jim Eno, Joe Chiccarelli, Charlie Sexton, Steve Berlin, Jack Lawrence, and Rick Hart. Q&A Q: Analog or digital and why? A: Most mixing projects lately are a combo of the two. I mix in the box and print outboard gear and effects. Then the mix is printed through my API 8200 summing mixer. I would love to do more all analog tape sessions, because it's a fun and different workflow but realistically the budgets and time constraints are limited. Q: What do you like most about your job? A: Getting to work with all kinds of people and personalities in many different styles of music. I think that really keeps me fresh. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do? A: That mixing and mastering is magic and everything can be fixed. Don't get me wrong a lot can be fixed, but there is no substitute for great source material. The job of mixing and mastering is to enhance the song. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients? A: What direction do you want the mix to go? On a 1-10 scale, 1 being pretty close to the rough mix but a little more polished/hi-fi or 10 pretty unrecognizable from the rough mix? Q: Can you share one music production tip? A: Listen! Be fearless and experiment. Turn that delay all the way up maybe it'll work, maybe it won't? You don't know unless you try. Also don't be afraid to kill your darlings. Q: What type of music do you usually work on? A: All kinds, thats my favorite part of the job Q: What do you bring to a song? A: Fresh ears and a new perspective Q: What's your typical work process? A: For mixing, I try to learn as much about the song as I can. I have a detailed conversation with the artist and try and get an idea of the vision for the song before I start. A rough mix is always helpful I listen to that a couple of times and right down my ideas and notes. Once I feel like I'm at a got place with the mix I'll send it to the artist for notes and then revise based on any notes they have until they're happy with the mix. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you? A: Oh boy, lots of people. I really love people like Tchad Blake and Dave Fridmann who are making wild sounds you've never heard before. As well as folks who came up more in the "documentarian" engineering world. People like Sam Phillips, Tom Dowd, Steve Albini who are trying to capture the performance in the room. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients. A: Mixing, Mastering, Editing.

I'm Jackson Mathod, a multi-instrumentalist singer songwriter based in the south of London. My influences range from the likes of Fat Freddie’s drop, Submotion Orchestra, and Christian Scott to name a few. I studied Jazz at Guildhall School of Music and Drama back in 2009. However, never feeling fully embedded in the Jazz world, I quickly went onto the session musician circuit, playing for high profile artists such as Stormzy and Jordan Rakei. Fast forward to 2019, where I was asked to be a featured artist on 'Make you Feel' by South London Duo Fika, laying my vibrant trumpet sound on the alt-soul hit. Born in the suburban Italian town of Augusta, a few kilometers outside of Siracusa, the 24 years old composer has always enjoyed pushing boundaries with his film soundtrack compositions. Award winner and nominated in several film festivals: Winner at Hollywood Music in Media Awards, Los Angeles CineFest, Miami WebFest and DieSerale for the best film score. He took part in different master classes with international pianists like Goran Filipec, Eduardo Hubert and Grammy Winner Vladimir Ashkenazy. Till now he composed more than 50 soundtracks that includes short films, feature films, documentary and tv spots. He released his first album Out of The Past in September 2019 through the record label INRI Classic. The album gained more than 10 millions streams on Spotify in less than a year since the release and was spotted by BBC 6 Music, KCRW, SOHO Radio, KEXP and other radios. I'm Nidal, a producer, singer/songwriter based in Montreal. I started as a guitarist almost 15 years ago and then got into songwriting, producing and mixing. Rebymel is an indie singer, songwriter, musician and producer. She attended piano classes and lessons to acquire the classical singing technique at the music institute. At the age of 12 she began writing lyrics and composing her first original pop music songs. In 2013 Rebymel released her first original song "Outside my Love" that entered the top 40 of the British pop/rock chart. In 2014 her single titled "I'm Here" caught the attention of the American indie rock radio stations. Rebymel collaborated behind the scenes with some international artists. In 2020 she released a self-produced version of the song "I'm Here" rearranged for the piano, under the self named record label 'Rebymel Music'. The following years Rebymel participated in some contests for musicians, composers and producers of Yamaha Entertainment, Native Instruments and Cymatics with the songs 'Colors in the Rainbow', 'Dynamic E-Motion' and 'Craziness' respectively. In 2024 she published 'Outside My Love' (EDM Remix).

Numerous Writing commissions have included Music for the UK Proms at the Royal Albert Hall, Contemporary dance includes a commissioned suite for the Phoenix Dance company, that represented the Uk at the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games cultural Olympiad.. Commissions also include the Official Uk 2007 celebration of the bicentenary of the ‘Abolition of the Slave trade” and other commissions have included the Royal Opera House as well as writing for the legendary Balanescu String Quartet of celebrated Romanian Violinist Alex Balanescu. I am an external undergraduate Degree & Masters Examiner for the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.
