From Los Angeles, now based in France. Devin began her recording career at age 15, signing a deal with Columbia Records. Recording at legendary studios such as The Hit Factory (NY) and Record Plant (LA), Devin fell in love with the record making process, specifically the crafting of vocal arrangement and harmonies. Soon after signing her deal, she began getting calls to sing demos for songwriters and producers such as Shelly Pieken, Diane Warren, Narada Michael Walden, and Rob Fusari. She has been a featured vocalist in movies such as Austin Powers in Goldmember, Big Mommas House and Master of Disguise. She has performed live and/or in the studio with artists such as Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland, Will and Jada Pinkett Smith, and Jennifer Lopez, including appearances on TV shows such as Top of the Pops, Jay Leno, and Ellen. Sound and its many forms (Music, Field Recordings, Comedy, Talk Radio, Podcasts, Lectures, Machine Noises, etc) have been a fascination for me since I was a young boy. Recording the world around me, writing songs and skits, and manipulating sounds have held my attention for most of my life. I've played in bands since I was a young teen, and eventually found minor success and much satisfaction, when I moved to Minneapolis, MN in 2002 and dove into the music scene there. I eventually met my bandmates and we formed a band called Estate. As a member of Estate, I have toured, released albums, eps, and remixes, and placed/licensed dozens of tracks to various television programs, and even film. During this time in Estate, I also began my career and a professional postproduction broadcast mix engineer, sound designer, and composer. Tirering of the advertising world, I changed paths to focus on my family, spirituality, and sustainability. To this end, we sold everything in Mpls and moved our family to rural northwest MN. We now live on an old 40-acre dairy farm in the mystical Leaf Mountains in beautiful Ottertail County. Our two daughters, three cats, two dogs, 30 chickens, and our beloved forested hills, form a small but wonderful world that my wife and I enjoy immensely. Music remains an integral part of my life, identity, and income. I produce using Ableton live (user since 2004 v2 I believe), guitars, basses, synths, and of course a wide palette of VST instruments, VST effects, and other digital goodies. I am interested in collaborations, work-for-hire composition, remixing, sound design (the SFX kind, post-production style), game audio using Unreal Engine 5 and Gamemaker Studio, podcast production and editing, and all-around audio shenanigans. With 30+ years in the business, working for and collaborating with a multitude of commercially successful artists, producers, DJs, film composers and advertising agencies, I am always looking for fresh projects that challenge my audiophile mind. I did a *lot* of remixing in the 90s and 00s, and still enjoy doing so. Leftfield and experimental sound design have always been favourites of mine, as well as composing to picture. Composition for TV advertising in New York, and collaboration on a number of feature films with the named composers brought plenty of sound to picture experience, and I taught Audio Post Production at Full Sail, Orlando. Lifetime musician, I’ve been mixing recordings and live shows since the late 90s. I mainly produce House, Hip Hop, RnB and Pop but have more mixing and mastering experience in Rock and Pop. My go tos for mixing are FabFilter, UAD, SoundToys and Waves plugins (some of my favourite are the 1176s, LA-2A, Pultec EQs, SSL Bus Compressor, etc.) and FabFilter ProQ. My mastering chain is a combination of FabFilter (Pro Q & Pro L) and analog emulations for tone. I provide a lower rate to work vocals into a premixed beat or instrumental.
