Born and bred in South London, singer song-writer JUST CHARLII has one overriding focus as an artist, and that is for her music to incite important conversations and help fuel positive change. A shy and introverted teenager, JUST CHARLII’s father gifted JC her first guitar at the age of fourteen which inevitably helped her make the first steps on the journey to pursuing her passion. With 30+ years in the business, working for and collaborating with a multitude of commercially successful artists, producers, DJs, film composers and advertising agencies, I am always looking for fresh projects that challenge my audiophile mind. In my own studio, I usually write & produce in Ableton Live, and record, mix and master in ProTools. Happy in either environment, I sometimes use both concurrently via Rewire. I did a *lot* of remixing in the 90s and 00s, and still enjoy doing so. Leftfield and experimental sound design have always been favourites of mine, as well as composing to picture. Composition for TV advertising in New York, and collaboration on a number of feature films with the named composers brought plenty of sound to picture experience, and I taught Audio Post Production at Full Sail, Orlando. I spent the first 10 years of my career working at a studio privately run by dance/rock pioneers Apollo 440 in London. Now working freelance, I draw on all the knowledge and experience I gained working with countless singers/bands/artists/producers (both established and new) on all sorts of different projects. Mixing is not simply a technical procedure, it's a creative process. You can get a song sounding good a million different ways using all kinds of techniques but does it make the listener feel the way it's supposed to? I am a perfectionist. Even when I know "perfect" isn't something that's actually possible most of the time, that doesn't stop me striving to achieve that for myself and more importantly the artist I'm mixing music for. I've been playing flute since 1997. I have several degrees in music performance, and I have recorded on countless projects. I've performed in the Just For Laughs Comedy Festival, Ottawa and Montreal's Jazz festivals, and the Marciac Jazz festival. I have a lot of experience in knowing in the moment what a song might need, and being able to come up with new ideas that suit the vibe of the song. I came up learning heavy metal and classic rock guitar solos on the flute, and kept working with that and eventually switched to jazz, with a focus in improvisation. I also learned the sax shortly after, and I am able to play tenor, alto, soprano and Baritone, even at the same time!! I've studied with some of the best saxophonists in the world, including David Binney, George Garzone, Donny McCaslin and Dave Liebman. I also play clarinet, keyboards and percussion. I came up in a rich musical background so I am able to perform and interpret in many different styles, from pop to rock, to reggae, to jazz, to hip hop to even techno. I love playing different styles and fusing them together. I'm looking forward to being able to work together and recording on your tracks!!!

Canadian-born, Brooklyn-based guitarist, producer, and beatmaker. My influences and styles are vast, ranging from jazz, hip-hop, blues, folk, rock, funk, soul and electronic music. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Jazz Guitar Performance from McGill University. I’ve worked, toured, performed, written and recorded with numerous artists such as Lauryn Hill, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Jon Batiste, The Weeknd, NAS, Billy Porter, Quiñ, The Roots, Andra Day, Antonio Sanchez, Tony Allen, Femi Kuti, and Bokanté. In 2015, I collaborated with Brooklyn native singer/flutist Melanie Charles on a project called “Rat Habitat”; a mix of electro/soul/indie rock. Our co-produced EP "Guns That Shoot Bubbles" was released in May of 2015, and has gotten many powerful reviews on internationally recognized online blogs such as Okayplayer, AfroPunk, Soulbounce and Ebony. Past production releases include Canadian songstress Sarah MK’s album “Worth It” which received the “Editors Pick” at the 2011 world renown “Montreal International Jazz Festival” My debut release as a leader, entitled “Dreams”, is a tapestry of colors and moods; a blend of electronic/indie/beat/jazz influences. The album showcases my skills as a producer and beatmaker, and while not a guitar heavy featured project, manages to fuse many of my musical influences into one cohesive sonic vision. The album features several New York City musicians, notably veteran drummer Obed Calvaire, vocalist Mike “Maz” Maher, woodwind genius Sly5Ave, violinist Lisanne Tremblay, drummer David Frasier and multi-instrumentalist Jesse Fischer.

Los Angeles native, Gil Sharone, is highly regarded as one of the most versatile session and touring drummers in the world, who is known for his creativity, authenticity and strong pocket. He is a multiple-time industry award winner as a drummer, but will often wear other hats as a co-writer, producer, and an educator/clinician. Gil came to notoriety in the rock world as a former member of The Dillinger Escape Plan, Puscifer, Marilyn Manson, Stolen Babies and Team Sleep. However, he is widely known as an expert in other genres. Reggae, ska and rocksteady were part of his earliest influences along with jazz, funk, hip hop and fusion. Gil has established himself in the Jamaican drumming styles, authoring an award winning DVD and book entitled Wicked Beats, after playing with legends Eek-A-Mouse, HR of Bad Brains, Dave Wakeling, and more recently with Slightly Stoopid, Morgan Heritage, and his current reggae/dub outfit, Gil, Migs and Rog. Gil is also an active member of a genre bending music collective, Saudade, where you can hear his jazz fusion collaborations with jazz greats John Medeski, David Torn, Robert Thomas Jr., Dr. Know and Chuck Doom. Gil’s work further extends into the film/television world, working with composers Tyler Bates and Paul Haslinger. His work can be heard in Deadpool 2, Guardians of The Galaxy 2, all three John Wick movies, The Punisher (Netflix), Kingdom and Stumptown. He has also contributed both as a player and co-writer on the DC Comics: Dark Nights Metal Soundtrack, and his most recent work can be heard in the musical score for the live action Cirque du Soleil show, R.U.N.

I am an award winning multi-instrumentalist, specializing in Tuned Percussion. I am one of the few UK musicians to have recorded albums on the legendary USA Jazz label “Blue Note” Records. I have played on over 100 recordings and across genres in a 40 year career. Won/nominated for numerous awards, including winner of 2017 Jazz FM "Live Performance of the Year" Award,. In 2018 awarded an MBE for services to music. A founder member of the Influential 1980s Jazz Warriors Big band. Written music for Film, Documentary and Television. Performed on BPI certified Platinum,Gold, & Silver recordings. My tours and production credits include a host of top names across many genres these include featured soloist and co- producer of Leading Classical music violinist Nigel Kennedy, Iconic soul vocalist Carleen Anderson. Session work inc Joss Stone, Robert Wyatt, Courtney Pine, Dr Robert.Don Cherry, Mica Paris, Kate Havnevik, Hugh Masekela, Manu Dibango. Thurston Moore. Trustee/Board member of the Ivor's Academy & National Youth Jazz Orchestra. Numerous Writing commissions have included Music for the UK Proms at the Royal Albert Hall, Contemporary dance includes a commissioned suite for the Phoenix Dance company, that represented the Uk at the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games cultural Olympiad.. Commissions also include the Official Uk 2007 celebration of the bicentenary of the ‘Abolition of the Slave trade” and other commissions have included the Royal Opera House as well as writing for the legendary Balanescu String Quartet of celebrated Romanian Violinist Alex Balanescu. I am an external undergraduate Degree & Masters Examiner for the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.
