Julian Roy’s sound is a combination of modern R&B and Neo-Soul mixed with experimental World Beat. His music is inspired by his travels through the island life of SE Asia and South America as well as living with musical communities in Nashville, San Francisco and now LA. Julian’s sound is best compared to artists like Frank Ocean and Chet Faker.

I'm a bass player in NYC who has recorded and performed with a diverse group of artists across many genres. I was the bass player and a co-orchestrator for the hit broadway show Waitress, and have recorded and/or performed with Darlene Love, Steven Van Zandt, Sara Bareilles, Rita Wilson, Maddie Poppe, Lana Del Rey, Jewel, Regina Spektor & more. My goal as session musician is to help bring the artist's vision to life by supporting the song. With over two decades at New Zealand’s public broadcaster, Radio New Zealand, I’ve built a career around capturing and sharing exceptional sound. I have broadcast live and recorded more than 1,000 concerts spanning orchestral, chamber, jazz, rock, and pop performances. Alongside my work in broadcasting, I am an active composer and sound designer, creating original scores and soundscapes for theatre productions and short films. I also mix professionally in my own Dolby Atmos–equipped studio, bringing immersive audio experiences to a wide range of projects. I've won four awards (Gold twice) in the category Best Sound at the New York Festivals - World's Best Radio Awards.

The digital landscape is deciding this years winners or losers and due to a lack of transparency from the world's top labels, many independent recording artists, producers, engineers and more (ready for hire) are left in the dark as to what they should be doing to reach a goal that they are told is simply a fairytale. I am here to assure you that your goal is no fairytale. The music industry is a vast place with many economic opportunities for those who wish to partake in it. With more transparency there will be more inclusion and with more inclusion the music industry will continue to win by connecting the hardest working professionals to economic stability. He has signed several distribution deals with music publishers from the USA, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Austria, Romania, Switzerland, Mexico, Panama, Israel, and Australia. He has won several international scholarships from Berklee School of Music, New York University's Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music, Miami University, and Bournemouth University, UK, as well as multiple awards. Roberto holds a Master's Degree in Music Technology and specializes in Instrumental music, Classical Crossover, World, Jazz, Latin, and Soundtracks.

I'm a fun and creative and thoughtful writer that can build rhymes for your next project with a quick turn around. My professional background was with 16 years in Nuclear Operations, but my passion is music. In the last couple of years, some life circumstances changed and I found myself falling into writing as an outlet. In the last few months alone, I've written lyrics for over 175 songs.
